Company History

The Lorenz Schneider organization started out originally as a small Brooklyn egg noodle manufacturing company. In May of 1936 Mr. Milton V. Brown and Mr. Joe Chertok purchased the business from Mr. Lorenz Schneider. Business assets at the time included one 1929 Ford truck and the equipment to manufacture egg noodles. The first week sales were an incredible $65.

After about a year the two partners decide to split up with Milton Brown taking sole ownership of the egg noodle company. Mid 1940 the decision was made to carry Wise potato chips and by 1949 the Lorenz Schneider Company had stopped distributing egg noodles and had become a major distributor for Wise products and other snack food products.

The business continued to grow and prosper over the years enjoying steady increases in sales. In the early 1960's the Yorkshire Food Sales company was created to accommodate the growing small retail trade. In the early 1970's the Fairchester Snacks organization was added to the Lorenz Schneider/Yorkshire Food Sales family of companies. The latest addition, in the late 1990's, of the F & J Snacks organization of western Connecticut rounded out the organization to its present day form.

The Lorenz Schneider/Yorkshire Food Sales/Fairchester Snacks of today consists of approximately 100 employees, multiple office locations and close to 250 owner operated routes.
